Mark 4:35-41 "Dealing With Difficulties"
Why is it that life doesn’t come easy, even when we’re trying to do right?
Difficulties come to everyone.
Even Jesus had to face the storms.
- On the Cross.
- Gethsemene.
- Rejection of the people.
- Death and the tomb.
A Hard Day’s Night
The storm came. It was not unusual.
Jesus was at peace in the midst of the storm, the disciples were not.
Jesus is accused of indifference toward their situation.
Notice the authority of God.
Jesus is not only the Son of God, but God the Son.
Jesus expected faith, not fear from the disciples.
Dealing With Difficulties
- Sometimes Jesus will still the storms of difficulties.
- Sometimes He will let the storms of difficulties rage.
A test of faith:- James 1:2-4
- 1 Peter 1:6-7
- Sometimes because of our lack of faith, He stills storms which we need.
This is a story of questions:
- Have you no care?
- Why are you afraid?
- Have you no faith?
What God does, He does according to His eternal plan in His infinite wisdom.
The Cross is not only an event in history, but a way of life for every Christian.
By way of history – we have been forgiven.
By daily taking up the Cross – we die to self which brings conformity to the image of Christ.
Fear is the opposite of faith.
Faith drives out fear. When we trust God, we have no reason to fear.
Let the storms howl. God is with us.
