Romans 16:25-27 "The Heart of The Gospel"
We Christians are in possession of the greatest good news ever known to man. We call it the Gospel. Gospel means Good News.
The Gospel:
- Deals with the problems of our past.
- Gives us purpose and meaning for the present.
- Provides us a certain hope for the future.
Paul presents a beautiful doxology of praise to God in which he presents the heart of the Gospel.
The Need of The Gospel (25)
Through the Gospel God establishes us on a solid foundation.
God establishes us by His Gospel.
Being established does not mean that our progress has ceased. It means we are doing the right things and standing on solid ground.
Establish means “to make firm, or stable.”
The Person of The Gospel (25)
The Gospel has the power to establish us because it centers in a person.
The Gospel is not a religious system but a living relationship with a real person, Jesus Christ.
The main thing in Christianity is to keep our focus on Jesus.
The Revelation of The Gospel (25)
The Gospel is a mystery which has been revealed.
In the Gospel, God did what no human would ever have done.
God chose to deal with rebellious and sinful humanity by sending His Son Jesus to die in our place for our sin.
The mystery of the exchanged life: Colossians 1:27.
The Result of The Gospel (26)
The result of the Gospel should be faith and obedience.
Where you find the Gospel being faithfully preached and fully followed, you will find that it makes a difference in the lives of people.
One of the most beautiful truths of the Gospel is that everything depends on God.
The God of The Gospel (27)
Paul ends the great doxology by extolling the glorious God of the Gospel.
One of the marks of Christianity and Christians should be praise.
